Visit Portland Mercado to experience the important and festive holiday of Dia de los Muertos, Day of the Dead. Dia de los Muertos, a holiday that originated in Mexico, is celebrated throughout Latin America to commemorate the lives of the deceased with activities we all enjoy in life: eating, drinking, music and celebrating with family and friends. We are excited to partner with community groups to honor our heritage throughout the weekend, and we hope you will join us to celebrate yours.

All weekend: Enjoy decorated Altares with offerings from Portland Mercado businesses, led by food cart, Mixteca PDX. Bring your own candle or flower to contribute to the community altar.
Friday October 30th: 350PDX visits to hosts candy sculpture and mask making workshops, celebrations, food and face painting for Dia de los Muertos, from 12-5pm
Saturday October 31st: Community Partner De Colores Spanish Learning invites families to engage in cultural activities, designed for kids!

- Build a calaverita (skull mask)
Time: 10am and 2pm sessions (choose one)
Cost: $5 in advance, $7 day of the event
