Founded in 2011, People*Places*Things (ppt) advocates culture and language acquisition by providing accessible services to teachers, students, immigrants and refugees. PPT offers language classes, cultural navigation, document translation, and language teaching certificates. Their language classes teach real life application to create culturally competent and successful business interactions. PPT is on a mission to develop a nationally applicable model to help reach the 25 million people in the united states that describe themselves as limited English proficient as a way to make connections and help build bridges between communities

Patrik Mcdade, the owner, has been teaching English for 20 years. He originally learned spanish while living in venezuela, which he combined with his teaching skills to develop People * Places * Things. Benjamín, one of the instructors (pictured below), has benefited from the program, and now teaches for the organization after receiving his spanish teaching certificate in Guatemala, where he is originally from. Together, and with the rest of the growing and dynamic team, PPT is proud to be part of the Mercado, where they can facilitate the crossroads of culture, ultimately helping people connect, relate and learn, regardless of age, background or any other barrier.
